do tell, they are 3 million over the cap and only have 14 players signed, several of whom have trade protection.

First off they could easily move Johnson or mcdonagh with a 1st to Seattle , also they will move both killorn and Johnson before giving up palat for half of what he’s worth

even if you moved both killorn and johnson, you would be 6 million under the cap with only 12 players signed, the league minimum will be 750K, meaning if you filled all 11 spots with league minimum players you would still be over the cap.

you also already traded your 1st and 2nd and 4th and your 2022 2nd and 3rd

also, what do you think hes worth in a flat cap world?

Just made a ACGM to show tampa has enough cap space to fill out a roster if they move TJ and killorn.
Also tampa doesn’t care about selling of picks if they win cups now. And in a non flat cap palat is worth a 1st mid and a high 2nd/low first. In a flat cap world he’s worth a mid first

Palat is not worth 2 firsts in a non flat cap world.

Tampa’s fine lmao it will cost a 1st to send Johnson to settle and they will be able to get a pick in exchange for killorn. Also you do realize only two player on Tampa’s active roster where first rounders selected by them right?

a 30 year old winger at just above a 20 goal pace for 82 games is not worth 2 firsts lol.

Palat is good and he compliments Point but he does not drive play and is largely a benefactor of playing on a stacked team. I am thinking best case scenario he can get a late first or an early 2nd. with a B prospect.

Okay

I don’t understand why everybody hates Johnson so much I actually think he’s a valuable good player. I get his contract is way overpriced for his value at the moment but he still a 3 to 3.5 million a year guy getting a first and a great draft like 2022 with offset the cost in my opinion. Hope the sharks jump on that

Ya we live in a world where people think anybody who’s overpayed is instantly bad and impossible to move

No. We think that players who are overpaid and have trade protection are hard to move in a global economic crisis that involves a multi year cap freeze.

As was proven when Tampa couldn't move him last offseason and he went unclaimed on waivers.

Last year tampa was refusing to pay a first to move him, their was also no expansion draft

They couldn't pay people to take him or trade him with retention. No one took him for free on waivers either.

Yes there is an expansion draft, which is why I suspect he will be gone this year, at a high cost.

I simply find it interesting that you would rather lose johnson AND a first round pick than lose palat and GAIN a 2nd round pick.

Johnson isn’t bad but his contract makes him hard to move
