Why is Mittelstadt on the wing over Reinhart?

the rest of this is a mess.

Granato on radio today said he sees no reason to move Reinhart back to wing.

Rakell is unnecessary, certainly at that price. Rather find a piece in free agency for free. They might not be as good as Rakell, but Routsalainen might already bring what Rakell would anyway.

Yep this is a look at next years roster with him at Center. Don't see why we need the extra million in cap space that bad to buy him out.

because then hes out of our lives. instead of having a guy who doesn't want to be there in rochester around quinn, peterka, UPL, laaksonen etc.

Loan him to a different AHL team then. Send him overseas. Send him to the moon.

Quite easily, he has a contract. Not to mention coming off an injury and the worst season of his career, he doesn’t really have room to demand a trade. he wouldn’t get what he wants, and the Sabres would never get fair value for him at this point because his value has never been lower than right now. He goes nowhere.

Or he could sit out and demand to get away from the circus that is the Buffalo Sabres...

But probably not, seeing as that would be breach of contract and he would get sued for more than the value of the contract. Not a good look for either side. Who wants to trade for a selfish player who sits out in breach of contract? That’s not the way to positively affect your trade value or make yourself attractive to other teams.

If eichel puts leverage on BUF that he wants out, BUF will likely trade him. Just look at Duchene with COL. it took some time but it happened eventually

The thing is he doesn’t have any leverage. He has a contract and since it’s guaranteed there really isn’t any wiggle room. He only gets traded if he requests one and the Sabres find a deal they like. If he does request a trade it may take the entire season before the Sabres actually get an offer they would be willing to take. Trading him away is a last resort on both sides.
