Would this get you Landry and Duchene?

Created by: KPasty
Team: 2016-17 Carolina Hurricanes
Initial Creation Date: Jan. 10, 2017
Published: Jan. 10, 2017
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
First off I'm not advocating a deal like this to happen, I was just wondering if it would be possible for a team to actually land both Av's who are on the block.

Why Carolina?
1) They have the cap space
2) They have exceptional prospects
3) They need better player up front

The trade:
Carolina gets Rask a 2nd line centre behind Mackinnon, cheaper contract than Duchene same role.

Hanifin, I get it he's an "untouchable" but Carolina has Fleury, Bean and Slavin on the left side for the future. I get that Hanifin is a better talent but he could be expendable with the talent coming back for their forward core.

Gauthier another good young forward prospect to add to the deal. 2nd line Winger potential.

A 1st round pick and 2nd Round Pick to round it all out.

Just kinda testing the waters here, am I far off or pretty close?

With so many high-value pieces involved in this trade, it's really hard to determine what's fair and what isn't. But in terms of what Colorado is asking for for the players individually, it doesn't seem like enough. Given that everyone uses Montreal for Duchene and Boston for Landeskog, it seems like there might have to be another high draft pick or high end prospect added to make the deal work.

I think it does but not sure if this makes the Hurricanes stronger or weaker. Those are some highly talented young players the Hurricanes are giving up. Plus, the Hurricanes are one player getting injured away from completely falling a part if they traded the high draft picks plus prospects and don't win...well the GM will likely get his walking papers.
