I am a fam of Krug, with a healthy Parayko all year that combo could have been good. They just need to pair him with a good shutdown guy imo.

It is the right move. Seattle is going to take Sanford or Blais as neither one will be protected. Protect the ones on defense like Parayko and Dunn then flip a coin for which of the 6.5 mil defenseman. And if Francis does take one, there's your Parayko contract in the future.

Nico is one the best young two-way centers in league.
Cannot win without a piece like that.

Name your ten players from 2017 1st round you'd take ahead of Hischier.

For Sure over Nico : Makar, Heiskanen, Petterson, Suzuki, Thomas (biased)
Maybe: Yamamoto, Norris, Vilardi, Jokiharju, Robertson, Brannstrom
Jury Still Out: Vaakanainen, Kostin, Tippett, Glass, Tolvanen (all these players could be good, but I doubt I take them before Hischier)
