Granato and Eichel stay Reinhart stays at center

Team: 2021-22 Buffalo Sabres
Initial Creation Date: Apr. 20, 2021
Published: Apr. 20, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Since everyone cried and moaned about Dahlin I upped his contract dollars. I still think he gets a bridge deal. The Blues aren't exactly rolling in the cap space and Parayko isn't having as strong of a year as the Blues may be accustom to. Final year of the deal, the Sabres allow the Blues to free some salary cap up. Can add a D prospect to this trade if need be.

Just to put in plainly...the Blues would never even consider that. Parayko is their top defenseman and I would be surprised if he doesn't re-sign.

dahlin will probably get a bridge deal, but you are about 2 million per year short on a 3 year deal, if not more

Toronto won't be able to afford him. He'll get a big deal and have the opportunity to play with Eichel or Reinhart. I know we're not exactly a destination but money talks. Leafs fans dreams of him taking a discount isn't likely. They're not tax free Tampa...

to make a lot of money and play close to home would be my guess in this scenario.

He's currently on their 3rd pairing, he's also not better than Falk or Krug or even Dunn this year. They can't re-sign everyone...

Maybe look at where he is from and his love for Toronto. He's not going anywhere, similarly to how Naz never wanted to leave Toronto either, and end his career in Toronto, but was traded unfortunately. Also, don't expect UFAs to sign in a market like Buffalo. You will be able to attract 4th liner free agents like Cody Eakin. We also do documentaries for players who were here for a long time

He's on the final year of his deal the Blues do NOT have cap space and he's having a slightly down year... The Sabres are allowing them to free up cap space. They still have Krug, Dunn and Falk... I think they'll be okay... I can add a solid prospect to it but the deal isn't as far fetched as you think...

Wake up pal... After you lose to a team not in the Canadian division and Hyman realizes he will get far more in the open market, he will leave.

Funny you say that. When the Leafs were in a horrible position, he decided to re-sign (shows how much he cares for his hometown). I know Buffalo struggles to find quality players in the UFA's, knowing how trash the market is there, but at least you have guys like Cody Eakin wanting to play for your team. I also find it funny that even though Foligno was born in Buffalo, NY, he calls Toronto "home"

I'm not sure what's more insulting, the Parayko offer or making him the 3rd pairing LD while Borgen mans the 1st pairing RD with Sandin. Woof.

Plain and simple that's just a really bad offer. He's our best defenseman and it's not close. He'd be your best defenseman until dahlin passes him. He's been injured w a back problem most of the yr. He's not on our 3rd pair, He's just paired w a 3rd pair guy to deepen our D-core

Even if it's you're opinion that he's moved, and I don't necessarily disagree with that.. a second and a third for a top four defensemen is laughable. Adding a prospect still probably doesn't get you 55. This deal probably starts with a decent prospect and a first.

You’ve got some issues here. Some big ones.
Let’s start with the biggest. That trade offer for parayko is an absolute insult. Add a first and its still not there. Truthfully, the second Petro moved on, parayko became unavailable. Can’t imagine the blues would have done that without knowing that they were going to get a deal done with parayko. Either way, the value here is atrocious. Every single team in the league knocks this offer out of the water.

Then there’s a concept you need to latch onto: UFAs aren’t taking reasonable contracts to go to buffalo! The team is really bad, the future looks really bad, and everyone there seems miserable. Wanna give out a crazy contract like they did for skinner? Then you’ll get someone. Saad, and Hyman probably don’t even pick up the phone. Maybe saad does because that’s a pretty big overpay for him.

Agree that dahlin gets a bridge deal. He hasn’t been very good.

Well Nick Folignos mom and dad were both from Sudbury as is 80 %of Nick's family. While he was born in Buffalo he moved to Toronto at 3 years old when his dad was traded there and that is where he grew up. I would think the city where someone spent years 3 -16 of their life and where all of their family lives would feel more like home then somewhere that you were too young to even remember being.

    Couple problems here

    1. Parayko doesn't play on the 3rd pairing. He is on the second currently, but plays the shutdown role. He is the main guy on defense, otherwise they wouldn't have put an "A" on his sweater.
    2. He has had an off year due to a back injury, mostly likely a herniated disc.

you might be able to get Dunn for that offer, but better make it before the expansion draft

First of all, he's been better than all those guys when playing. Secondly, he also missed nearly 20 games due to a back injury. Since his return, the Blues defense has been significantly better. If you dont watch the Blues, then just say so. Blues don't even remotely consider this deal. They could get an actual roster plus a first round pick for him, not scrap picks.
