Hmm, I think are overrating him. But He's comparable to all these guys. He's a superstar.

Worst move in Calgary Flames trade deadline history is refusing to give up Valimaki in a Mark Stone trade.

Overrating in what sense? As you can conceivably say each player is overrated here.

Stone brings 200ft game, insane IQ, unreal puck stripping abilities on the move or stationary, offence is there, defense is there, over a point per game by far and more than reliable in all situations.. ALL situations, shorthanded powerplay 5v5 OZONE DZONE

Dude. He's good. Would take him on my team any day. But c'mon!

MacKinnon and Stone almost even? C'mon. Crosby and Stone even? C'mon. McDavid and Stone close? C'mon.

You're associating these players names - I'm basing it on play. Stone defensively is better McDavid and Id say even if not better than the other two. Offensively he isn't miles behind; hes darn close. Not near McDavid and Mac but close and Crosby is v similar to Stone except Crosby will be HOF based on his career. Currently I'd say they are pretty even in terms of what they bring to the table. Stone has insane IQ and takeaway abilities.

Ottawa offered him exactly what he wanted and likely wouldvd been the captain, but hes so competitive and didnt wanna stay thru a rebuild. the guy is insane on both ends, puts in max effort and is very elitw

have you seen his puck stripping videos lol, I think Pete Blackburn posted it on twitter a month ago or so. the guy is actually unfair; strips you in the air, on the move, from behind - basically any way possible hes done it or still doing it

I agree he is a fantastic player. But these 3 are able to single handedly change a game.

Stone singlehandedly changes games/ Vegas' season.

Last night for example he was the reason why Vegas won/ got to extra time.

He is a gamechanger/ a series impact player

Mark Stone has 7 gwg this year.. McDavid and Matthews (NHL goal leader) both have 9

Guy is very good, elite player, not sure he's that good tho. What stats are you basing this off though? I know stats aren't everything but the human eye doesn't see everything in a hockey game and advanced analytics pick up a lot of stuff we miss.

Ok. I will watch him more closely and see if my opinion changes. I will say though a line of McDavid Mackinnon and him at the Olympics would be phenomenal to watch.

Both eye and advanced stats. As I believe you need to use both. Not just 1; but value both. As both eye and adv can be misleading without the other.

Mark Stone per jfresh and hes still playing at the same level currently if not better but not worse

You would have to think that it was similar to the return they got for him but with Valimaki instead of Braanstrom. Something like Bennett, Valimaki and a 2nd for Stone would be my best guess but I don't know for sure!

Hahaha it would be an absolute field day with how all those players turned out! Back then you could probably slide it through with only a few harsh comments, today, it would turn into a reportable post!

I’m not sure but Valimaki/Dube were in the rumours and Calgary didn’t wanna part with either

5.6 Career Corsi Rel %

HOF level possession

The one I'd say deserves a bit more credit there is Panarin but yeah Stoner is definitely up in the rarified air, the grand whazoo, the excelsior of excellence 🌠

Is he really equal with Matthews, Mackinnon and Crosby though, all of whom were/are top 3 centres in the league?
Stone is great and is probably a top 3 winger in the whole league, but I don't think he should compared to the likes of Matthews, Crosby, Mackinnon.
