that (or Carolina who knows) and pray Bobrosky rebounds into the Columbus Bob who was a monster in the playoffs.

0.909 aint good for a guy making 10mill and is ironically the backup to a guy named Chris Dreiger whose probs gone in the offseason as Knight is making the case has ultimately replaced him as starter for now

so they better prey Bob/Knight can be stable

Cause lets be real despite there record I just cant see them beating Carolina nor Tampa with Bob as the starter. And sure they could start Dreiger but than the question becomes why is a 10mill goalie sitting on the bench?

I feel this is a one off season and is part of a theory I like to call "the panther effect" where one or more guys will go and have an incredible season (or overachieve) with them but will never be able to replicate that found success in future seasons.

That and hes playing himself into a lot of money and with Barkov and Huberdeau soon needing new deals conserving will be necessary.

They’re no other logical options to protect, it’s an obvious choice.

Verhaeghe’s underlying numbers were very good before this season - he just needed an increased role. This is not a fluke. He’s a legitimate top 6 forward

He still has another year at 1m$ so even if he regresses, it's no big deal. No point in exposing him.

What happens to this dynasty when you don't have the money to keep both Huberdeau and Barkov? Both have a very strong case for $9M+, which won't fit for next year even with a cap jump and Vatrano coming off.

Yandle and stralman contracts are off the books by then so they’ll be just fine. Then hornqvist as well. No way the panthers bring back Hoffman at 6 mil. So they have plenty of money.
