I'd jump for joy (but be shocked) if Ovi only signs for 10. Can't see Samsonov getting 3+ in a flat cap world. I say he gets half that for two years. If they take Vanacek instead, one of these d men, either Dillon or Schultz or a combo of Eller + Jensen for instance will have to go to get #8 signed. Point is, Caps might be losing 2 or 3 more players this summer to get all of this under the cap.

Definitely more likely, but I just wanted to see how the team could look if Seattle takes Schultz. I think the caps trade Vanecek before letting him walk for nothing. It just depends on if there’s a market for a young expansion eligible goalie pre-expansion draft

I don’t think they move Eller or Jensen, but I could see Dillon and Hagelin getting moved for sure. We have lots of young forwards in the system ready for a look in the bottom 6 next season, and we have so many LHD looking for playing time.

Well if they wanted to move him there is definitely a market. A team like my wings should be interested. They have plenty of extra picks the next couple years.

Idk Vanecek is kind of risky pick for Seattle. He is already 25 and this season is the first time he has made the NHL, his ceiling has never been viewed to be super high, and this year is more likely to be an anomaly than other position players as he has had a really good team in front of him, and every team has to expose one goalie so you have to ask is he really better than 29 of the other goalies available?

No he probably isn't but since goalies kinda come along at thier own pace 25 isn't exactly odd. I can see seattle taking hill and Allen but they have to take 3 and hes been awesome. Plus hes a rfa and cheap.
