Not anymore. With the way COL has just become dominant and the lee injury no. But before the lee injury they would be the favorites to come out of the east and wouldve been a great matchup between them and the central winner. I couldve really seen them in the cup finals but i dont see them winning it. But that doesnt mean theyre not great it just means theyre not the best team in the league.

I think they have a better chance at winning the cup. That doesn’t necessarily mean better, but I think all those teams have the guys that can get hot and carry a team for a playoff run. I don’t think the islanders have that.

The islanders dont need that guy to get hot bc the way they play its a full team effort. They dont need that 1 guy to carry them. And with their goaltending situation which in the playoffs gets even more magnified theres absolutely no way washington can win the cup.

I don’t think the islanders, at 100% health, playing their best hockey can beat tampa. I think Washington, boston, and Pittsburgh all have higher highs, and probably lower lows.
