Why are we giving up a first and a second for backlund. I wouldn’t give up a second for him.

From what I see here, the only two possible qualifying forwards you exposed to Seattle would have had to have been Lucic, on the assumption he waived his NMC, and Mangiapane. I just can't see a second-round draft pick being enough to convince Seattle to take Giordano over Mangiapane.

Except for maybe Minnesota, every trade partner is overpaying for players they don’t need.

Ok, fair. I don’t think it’s that bad. Anything change if one of Chytil or Barron is removed?

Ok, just signed him so that we would be able to have 4 NHL centres. Not a big deal

Blasphemous statement. Chytil is good and is tracking to be better than Monahan but isn’t quite there

Although selected in the 1st, Chinakov was a projected 3rd rounder in some mocks. Not really a 1st + 2nd. What would you give for Danault, hypothetically?

You could tinker with timing of your trades to allow for the protection of Mangiapane. No way I’d even consider exposing him. He’s a must have for our rebuild

Gaudreau trade is more than fair. Might be an overpay on the other two but both Columbus and NYR need a 2C.

Why not? He’ll fill the 2C void.

Not with Morgan Frost. That's an overpay on the Flyers end. Maybe someone like Bobby Brink could do it though.
The other two are easily overpays. Neither CBJ nor NYR have any interest in moving those assets, and while CBJ could use a 2C they're not going to want an aging veteran as old as Backlund. And no offence but Ryan Strome is a better 2C than Sean Monahan. 2021 decided that Strome isn't a product of Panarin no matter how many times this site tells you otherwise and no matter how many times he appears in Eichel trades.

No, you can't.

You have to present two qualifying forwards to Seattle in the expansion draft. UFAs and RFAs expiring this season don't count. Your only qualifying forwards are Tkachuk, Gaudreau or Lindblom depending upon when that trade is made, Monahan or Chytil depending upon when that trade is made, Lindholm or Greenway depending upon when that trade is made, Backlund depending upon when that trade is made, Lucic and Mangiapane. You have to expose two of them, so even if Lucic waives his NMC, by this construction you're going to have to expose another forward whom Seattle would prefer to Giordano (even if it's Backlund).

Or don't trade Lindholm. Way better option.

10 LH Forward lmao

This year the Wild have moved up in the world and have 2 right shot forwards (Hartman, Bjugstad) and 2 right shot defensemen (Spurgeon, Dumba) although Bjugstad has been out for a little bit with a head injury so we're back to just having Hartman for right shot forwards. It can be done, but it's not ideal.

Still a top prospect. Still not worth giving up for Backlund.
