Colorado would never trade MacKinnon. They're going into rebuild mode and he's their centerpiece. Also, Henrik will never be traded by the Rangers.

Blues are doing very well offensively this year but are weak on the back end, so I have no idea why you would compromise your defense for more forward power.

1. If they're rebuilding, I think two #1 picks would help with that ;-)
2. Sure the Rangers may never trade Hank, but it's worth a look. Plus they will be getting a decent younger tender in return.
3. Blues do not have much depth scoring, sitting at 12th in the league GF with the 4th highest point producer in the league.
4. I would rather get something for Shatty now, rather than nothing in the offseason. I don't think we need Shatty to make a deep playoff run, but we do need reliable goaltending.

To say our defense is weak is a joke, and you can't honestly tell me that
