Sorry you feel roasted but that is not a very good trade. You are giving up an insane amount of good quality players to get one good player that has high offense but is not a unifier of the room. So I am not roasting you at all and I am happy you are putting together trade posts but this one was not a very good one.

Hahah appreciate the honesty. Needed to overpay or else you get all the sabres fans saying how that’s not going to be enough. Wouldn’t mind getting rid of Weber’s contract that is forsure

You are doomed either way in any Eichel trade. It's never enough for Buffalo fans... It's always too much for everyone else.

Weber has 1 more year at $6M, then he drops to $3, then $1M for each of his last three seasons. Has he slowed down a touch? yes. Is he still valuable? yes. Last night he played over 27 minutes and had numerous hard heavy hits. He played a very strong game last night. The Habs issues are not all on his shoulders. You have 7 forwards that are not scoring, only Anderson and Toffoli have remained consistent around the net. Add more goals, add more victories and people will get off the Price and Weber bashing.

I don’t think it has anything to do with the actual money though. Goals cost money and cap space. He is taking up a large amount of cap space that can be spent to get goals. He can be replaced by a player with a $4M cap hit that does the exact same thing. Flat cap makes Weber more of a problem than a solution

Number of games without a goal:
Drouin: 26
Petry: 17
KK: 12
Perry: 8
Danault: 7
Tatar: 5
Suzuki: 5
Gallagher: 8 because of injury.

If these guys are scoring like they are supposed to, then Weber's contract becomes less of a beacon for people to look for problems. We have players that can score, they just are not right now. I agree Weber's contract appears large but if those players are scoring like they are supposed to, Weber's contract does not become a daily target.
