If we lose Halak and Rask in the off-season we still have Swayman (our current back-up) and Vladar.

Value is fine in the Detroit trade, I just don’t see the need currently. We look good at RD with Seider + Hronek, by trading one then you’re just robbing Peter to pay Paul. Plus if any of the rumors about him (Werenski) wanting to play in Detroit then you just wait till he presses the issue and keep collecting premiere talent through the draft which perfectly aligns with his UFA years. I’d also like to see how he comes back from that hernia.

The bruins have four goalies they like. They will probably lose halak, but there’s pretty much no reason to think they’ll lose rask. Pretty sure they’ll just play that guy.

Detroit declines, We's want Werenski to mentor Seider not trade him away from him, If it's true that Werenski wants to come home to Detroit only. Then Jarmo has no leverage in any Werenski trade.

It cheaper for Buffalo to buyout skinner rather than retain 3x7

Technically it would be 3x6 since the TDL passed. The buyout would be $39,166,664 over 12 years.

If boston loses both goalies they go with swayman and sign a guy like bernier too split time. Id love werenski but can't move seider. The Rangers won't do that.

Buffalo isn’t looking to unload Skinner, particularly at that price. With his NMC I doubt he’d be excited about Columbus.

...is he excited about BUF?

If he’s looking to make a move out, his options are...*extremely* limited. Contenders likely don’t have the cap space, and even most rebuilding teams would be concerned for that cap hit once their prospect get out of ELC’s in a year or two.

He didn’t sign a long-term contract with a no movement clause so that he could leave. He doesn’t want to leave. He’s close to home in Buffalo, that’s one of the reasons he wanted to come here in the first place. Yes, he orchestrated the trade from Carolina to Buffalo because he had a full no trade clause and could choose where he was going. The last year or so has not gone well, but I doubt he wants to go anywhere.
