Jake Bean is not nearly close to worth it for the Sharks as he just won't be as useful as he should be. We have Karlsson, Merkley, Burns and then Ferraro and Knyhzov. Bean won't get the opportunity he needs or rather he is a puck mover we already have; Karlsson, Burns (maybe not after Seattle, just a example not saying it happens) - replaced by Merkley, Knyzhov (who looks like a bright future player), with Ferraro being a TWD. Sure Bean can rise the depth charts easily as hes good but that then means Ferraro, Merkley, and Knyzhov lose a spot; Where Ferraro and Knyzhov both are deserving of running the Sharks future D as theyre the brightest spots on the Sharks the past 2 seasons.
Knyzhov - Karlsson
Ferraro - Burns
Bean - Merkley
Just is not a D core that spells success as I just see no actual defenders. More like a second forward unit lol.
Trocheck added to that just makes no real value attained as we aren't really improving the way we need too and have no use for Vincent if we are selling.
Both are fine players (I love Bean) but this just isn't a good move for the Sharks. Plus with Hamilton not a guarantee to stay in Carolina I think they have a desire to keep Bean long term and see what he becomes (as he has some great potential).
