It is the best and most realistic way I have seen. Hate to lose Palat but no one taking Tyler. Gourde having a great year but 4 years at 5.1 million would be difficult to move.

So we're not just taking on a cap hit that extends into the 2022 offseason and therefore threatens our attempts to retain nearly the entirety of our core (literally everyone except Bjorkstrand and Atkinson is going to be up for new contracts that year) - you want us to only accept a 5th for the privilege, and execute the deal in a manner such that we end up with a very likely extremely disgruntled player who plays a position we don't need additional players at?

You're going to have to do a lot better than that to sell the Jackets on that one.

Doesn’t have to be the jackets, literally any team looking for a top 6 F on a short term. Probably at least a handful of them out there.

I like gourde but him and Johnson are both extremely difficult contracts to move imo. Palat and killorn clearly have the most market value and there fore make the most sense to let go of. Retain futures, protect all top 4 D.

MAYBE you have to add a pick to entice Seattle to take palat instead of one of the RFA’s but honestly, he will be the best player available from Tampa. Should be an easy decision for Seattle

Very unlikely this is what happens. Johnson is 100% off the team after this season. No doubt Brisebois will look into a deal with Seattle or retaining a million and moving him to one of the 20 teams he could be traded to, but if not Tampa will just buy him out.

There's a decent chance Tampa then makes a deal with Seattle to take McD or another specific player like they did with Vegas. Having Seattle take McD in a deal and getting value for Palat or Killorn gives Tampa enough room to keep the less expensive players(Goodrow, Foote and the others), plus work on keeping either Coleman or Savard. If Tampa can run a top 4 of Hedman, Sergachev, Cernak, Savard, they should be fine. Depending on the price to have Seattle take McD, it would likely be the best time for Tampa to move him due to the ntc and the cap space they would open up. There's very little chance that Brisebois moves both Palat and Killorn, and no chance he does for nothing.
