I see everyone pretty much takes allen but i don't see the appeal. Odds are you could flip him and get a 3rd at most. But with Arizona, Columbus and Washington leaving stronger goalies available i don't see the point of grabbing allen as well

I agree but it's based off the article so that's why I went with Dadonov.

Even Ottawa will be forced to leave the younger Gustafsson or Dacord exposed who the Kracken could take to kick start their future.

They won't be forced since Murray has no NMC. I can see them protecting Gustavsson

Yeah. He's had a brutal season by his standards, but he's still on pace for 20 goals. No doubt in my mind he bounces back to 50 pt guy next year. He's never going to put up an 8 assist 82 game season like he's on pace for.

Exactly my point they have to protect Murray and his NMC and Gustafsson is signed to 2022 so they have to either ask Murry to waive and protect Gustafsson or leave Gustafsson exposed. Either way they will be exposing a good goalie. I expect BTW they choose to protect Murray

Would be quite surprised to see Benson taken over one of Jones/Lagesson who will surely be available. But if they say so! Love Benson but it's be totally okay if he's all that is lost. McLeod and Holloway are bigger, faster LW options in the pipeline.

& what "stronger goalies" are these?
Arizona - Hill (NHL/AHL fringe), or Raanta (pending UFA)
Columbus - Matiss Kivlenieks (career AHL goalie)
Washington - Copley (NHL/AHL fringe), Vanacek (career backup at best), Lundqvist (veteran that wants a cup and won't play for a building team, also a pending UFA)

... none of those options are better than Allen. Allen's actually been very good the last 2 seasons. I could see Montreal actually paying Seattle not to take him with how shaky Price is. But Allen is certainly a very good option to go to Seattle.

Murray does not have a NMC in his contract. He has a modified NTC which will be a list of 10 teams he can't go to, but that doesn't need to be waived and Murray can't say no to being exposed in the expansion draft.

That being said, Murray's ghost NMC is kinda his contract. I don't see Seattle taking him and that massive contract when he hasn't performed well in a number of years. Ottawa more than likely protects Gustavsson who has performed well at his age and experience level and exposes Murray. Seattle would be likely to take someone else anyways because goaltending won't be a problem to pick, but offensive scoring will be.

I doubt anyone wants Virtanen at that cap hit. I think he's going to get bought out this summer.
