this will never happen...
and oilers are giving up way to much for a player who causes issues every place he has been.
also he is bankrupt and will probably still have his contract terminated from the sharks as well....

Sharks would do it just to get out from under one of their big contracts. Kane is the best player in the deal but he will be a old man before Sharks are competitive again. Can't really see this deal working as is for the Oilers but only minor tweeks needed IMO. Kane would be fun next to Mcdavid and Mcdavid would have a layer of on ice protection.

He's been great in SJ. Can't speak for the other places.

The termination issue has to be mutual. It's not as simple as you're making it out to be.

Sharks like Kane, he is still valuable to them, and I’d rather have our 2022 2nd than your 21 1st to be honest.

Kane as a player checks a lot of boxes Edmonton would like to check but the character issues seem a huge risk on a big contract. Don't think Oil would go this route. Maybe we would be interested in a year or two of Kane on his best behavior. But it's probably best for all if he stays in SJ.

The Sharks have point blank stated that they're not particularly interested in terminating his contract.

I’m a sharks fan, I’ve heard the same thing! However this could just be to either save face or protect themselves in the lawsuit. If they go full rebuild I see them trying to trade him or terminating the contract. If they think they can compete in the next 2-3 years they would be stupid to let him go.

yes i know it has to be mutual.

On Ice he has always been good. the off ice has been a disaster for him. and in San jose I do recall a report of him owing a hotel something like $250 K in gambling and hotel charges during the playoffs....
Just what the oilers need in character as they try and get these young players to learn how to perform in the playoffs.
