    why would we need to add for an expansion team with all the cap in the world to take our captain and a top 15 defensemen of the century lol. Vegas took on multiple bad contracts/players with high salary without compensation.

    Because he's signed for 5 years and declining. "top 15 defensemen of the century" doesn't mean anything today.

    Horton was never drafted by vegas, so idk what you are syaing
    Emelin was immediately flipped for a draft pick
    Fleury was and still is a solid goalie (and was coming off a really nice playoff performance)
    Eakin was the best available option , and at least had very solid Faceoff numbers, and only had like a 3 mil cap hit

    I am pretty sure you just made my point not yours

    Well no cuz Vegas owned the rights to all those players regardless, meaning Seattle would probs do it too
