Calm down, yes the jets have to figure out their top 6 but it wasn’t a bad game other than that. The 3rd line was largely ineffective though without Lowry. He should be back soon though. The jets need to figure out their top 6 though.

Not to mention, the defence was good. Again. The PK still needs a little bit more work (need to clear the net better) but overall, it was a good game. Just not good for the jets top 6. They need to be better. Started off fine but they got too pretty as the game went along. Always looking for that nice cross-ice pass into the slot, or that easy looking back door tap in. They need to get more pucks to the net and get bodies there. The jets offence did a pretty good job other than that, and contrary to what you said, the top line was good, other than what I said. They need to play way more direct though.

They need, they need, they need is what I get from this post. Doesn't sound good for a team heading into the playoffs. 4 games and they will be joining me golfing

Wake up call? No one stepped in when Thornton was taking liberty with Perreault last game and Ehlers this game.

I think the fact they did essentially nothing to improve at the deadline is really starting to catch up with them, I understand that they had to take the expansion draft into account and that players aren't willing to waive to come here but I really feel like they could have at least done a little more.

Is it a coincidence that the Jets are 2-4 since the TDL? When they saw that their team didn't add anything...

The guys won't waive for Winnipeg excuse for Chevy doing nothing is so tired, it's like he just focuses on players with trade protection cause he knows they won't waive so he'll have an excuse for doing nothing.

Between a coach that's stuck in 90's era hockey mindset and a GM that does little idk how any Jets fan still has faith in the clubs two main leaders.

I know Forbort has played well but it's inexcusable that he was essentially the only change to the defense from last season and then to only add
Jordie freakin Benn at the TDL was pathetic!
Didn't have to sell the farm but I agree they could've done a little more then the almost nothing they did do.

It feels like this team is going to be two years away from being two years away while pissing away their top players prime years.

Still can't understand the Hamonic deal or lack of. Can't tell me a player would not want to be traded back to the area where he was born and is building a new house AND to a team which is in the playoffs. I think the only thing Chevy had to do was to extend the olive branch and it would of been done.

Savard, Zadorov, and other players did not have control of where they go.

I actually do understand the lack of a Hamonic deal, first in the offseason the Jets just weren't interested and then at the trade deadline Hamonic wasn't interested in getting traded cause if he gets a serious injury he'd have lost his last decent payday, it wasn't worth the risk to him as he's not the type of player that would've gotten a better payday based off his playoff performance. I fully expect Hamonic resigns with the Canucks.

Yes there's plenty of decent players that don't have trade protection, I mean I don't expect a #1 dman to be acquired or want the farm sold for a rental but trading the 2021 1st and a couple middling picks for Savard isn't "selling the future", one 1st round pick isn't the entire future of the organization.. Lol

Any one(or two) of Savard, Nemeth, Montour, Hutton, Fleury, Jakanpaa, Reilly would've been more interesting acquisitions then Benn and not one had trade protection except for Benn who's the worst of that list.. 😂

If the Jets were not interested in Hamonic, I believe it was because of the DeMelo signing and they couldn't look bad bumping DeMelo down to third line. They look pretty bad right now with DeMelo. Unfortunately because Hamonic won't waive even to Carolina, I believe he will be in a Canuck uniform next year.

Morrissey would of benefitted more with Hamonic then DeMelo. He has helped out Hughes.

Won't get any argument from me, I think DeMelo sucks.. Lol

I don't get why they traded for DeMelo in the first place, the 19-20 Jets were going nowhere, was no point in investing in that team.

I think that this team has another level that they can’t get to right now. This isn’t a coaching issue. This is an executions issue. The top 6 is getting too pretty. It’s as simple as that. They need to put the puck at the net and create chaos. This far into the season the pretty goals won’t happen anymore. It’s the hard fought goals that win you games.

If the top 6 keeps playing like it is, it will be a quick 4 games no doubt. However, if they can play anywhere near where we know they can, they can go more than a series imo.

The only issue is edmonton and they have very good neutral zone structure that kills anything the jets try to generate off the rush. That’s not terrible because the jets aren’t an off the rush offence based team. The issue is when you add mcdavid and draisaitl to that... I still think the jets come out on top in 7 games against the oilers but it will be a tough series

Really sucks that chevy wasn’t able to do anything. I’m not taking the blame off him (more on that later) but it seems as though a basically done deal fell through last minute, so can you blame him? However, I’ve never been a fan of last minute deals and if gas such a crucial move, the jets should have made it at least a couple of hours before the deadline in case something like this would happen.
