Definitely not. A 24 year old top center is more valuable than a 29 year old top winger.

Panarin has a better PPG than him, plus he can carry his team.

I wouldn’t do Fox for Eichel straight up. So go figure.

Ok so you just completely ignore age & position lmao? Eichel just entered his prime. Panarin will be 30 and coming out of his prime.

Carry his team to what exactly? Missing the playoffs? How can he "carry" his team but Eichel doesn't?

I don’t give a damn. Fox is our best defenseman and just turned 23. We have no one to come close to replacing him. It’d create an even larger hole on an already suspect defense core.

Position really doesn’t matter, your effect on your team does. I’m criticizing this trade based off of right now not 5 years in the future. Panarin has a greater effect on his team than Eichel does, and yes he carries the Rangers better than Eichel because the Rangers aren’t on the bottom of the league like the Sabres are.

How does filling one hole by creating another help us at all. Our defense core isn’t good and Fox is the best guy we’ve got by a lot.

Because it's far easier to replace a d man like Fox than it is to find a center like Eichel. Duh

> Position really doesn't matter

Of course position matters. Centers have the most responsibilities and impact on the team. Panarin wouldn't be able to play center, but Eichel could play wing.

> your effect on your team does

Eichel has more of an impact and is younger.

> I’m criticizing this trade based off of right now not 5 years in the future

Right now Eichel is better.

5 years from now Eichel is better.

> Rangers aren't on the bottom of the league like the Sabres are

And remind me has Eichel been playing? You see the impact he has? Without him they go on a 18 game losing streak. You're demonstrating how impactful he is.

Rangers were right near the Sabres in the standings last year lmao. Bad argument.

Bro you think Trouba, Smith and Hajek is good as half the d core? Fox is great, Lindgren and Miller are decent.

Doesn’t change my opinion that I don’t want him. I’d rather a guy like Barkov over Eichel. Send Eichel somewhere else.

If Fox wasn’t on the team we’d be one of the worst 5 teams in hockey. If Eichel was so impactful then why couldn’t the Sabres look respectful?

I don’t think Eichel is all that, yet. I hope he has multiple 100 point years and a great career, but I don’t want him on my team. I’d prefer us to rebuild and develop our guys and show some patience instead of being rash and screwing up the rebuild,
