Did you not read the 2 on 1 part? (Insert facepalm emoji). And don't worry, he didn't get benched, he just got demoted to PP2 for a shift. Is that better or are you still offended by sensical actions?

You are just grasping at straws. In your own opinion no one will pay Rielly 8+ million. So he isn't going to get that. I bet he'll get around 7 and he's worth it. He's a terrific defenceman who should he judged by smart people for his overall game not some ridiculous arrogant dick on the internet because of a fanned shot one time.

You could strap a pair of skates on a 3 year old, and put them on the ice with Marner and Matthews and they would be +30

Then explain why the superior defenceman Muzzin is only plus 10? More bull**** justification. Although you are a pens fan so I am going to just assume you are here looking for an argument.

Muzzin is typically backing Tavares Line, who had an extremely slow start to the season. Once again though, i am not arguing with you that Rielly is superior to Muzzin in Offensive Contribution. They key difference though is defensive abilities, in which Rielly is awful.
To make things easy for you:
Defence #1: Very good offensively, Very poor defensively
Defence #2: Average offensively, Very strong defensively
Which DEFENCEMAN do you want more than the other?

Also, not a Pens fan. 100% Leafs Fan. Another terrible assumption from you, not surprised

Typically not true like everything else. Muzzin and Holl play with Matthews and Marner since they get harder matchups usually but as is everything with you fools, reality doesn't matter only your opinion.

So you agree then, Muzzin and Holl getting the harder matchups, Simply because the LW Morgan Rielly cant handle it.

the best part is, I actually love this trade without the draft picks.
Leafs are getting another solid D man who doesn't lose his assignment and create chances for the other team all night.

Or it makes more sense to use Rielly in a way that is more beneficial to the team's success. Still Rielly's most frequent opponent is McDavid and TO does have a winning record against him including a stretch of 3 games where he was shutout. Must be because he's so bad defensively that McDavid felt sorry for him and took 3 games off.

If you have watched any of those games, you would know that its been Muzzin and Holl matched up against McDavid. Don't want a repeat of last years ankle snatchery.

Sometimes.not always. Keefe literally has praised Rielly for this.

So Keefe has praised Rielly for matching up against McDavid, where in that case it is high off the glass and make a change real quick, or praised him for getting his ankles absolutely stolen?

We all know the play you're referring to. But in fairness he did the exact same thing to Muzzin earlier this year. Rielly is under a lot of scrutiny as he is the Leafs #1 Defenseman. That is a reality for any team. Rielly will also have an agent trying to negotiate for top dollar. That is an agents job. So yes I'm sure the dollar figure of 8 Million has been thrown out. But at this point its meaningless. I can see Rielly staying for around the same or less that Krug signed for in our flat cap world. Those calling for him to play LW have no idea about the game of hockey.

Keefe seems to recognize Rielly might be an ok defensemen. As evident in his ice time.

Those calling for him to play wing are the same that think dumping Johnsson to New Jersey was an awful trade.

It’s ok. They’re the type of fans who would like Steve Simmons behind the bench with Darren Dreger upstairs calling the shots.

I don't think anyone was legitimately suggesting Reilly be moved to LW, i think it was a poke at his defensive game. As for a similar contract to Krug, i don't think your too far off, but I'm not sure the Leafs want to spend that kind of money on someone that is more of a luxury than a need right now. i think they could replace Rielly with another Defense for the same price who is going to be less of a liability on the back end, and don't need firepower from defense. They pay 4 guys half of their cap space to do that.

Fair enough. However if you look around the league, there are not a lot of examples of an elite puck moving defensemen who plays an excellent 200' game. There are many examples of being an elite puck moving defenseman and awful in your own end, re: Quinn Hughes, Tyson Barrie, John Carlson. I would say Rielly is an elite puck moving defensemen and average in his own end.

Right? Totally the Simmons crew. Gotta get rid Jumbo because Galchenyuk is the contrarian guy to like right now.

Funny how no one seems to remember just how bad the Leafs were last season when Rielly was out hurt. They were just awful. These anti Rielly guys would miss him so much once he was gone but would be too proud to admit just hot off base they were.

Hit the nail on the head. Best part is that said D-man with less firepower and more defensive responsibility can be 1/3 of the cap hit that Rielly's next contract will look like based on his point production alone.

Lol. You mean when we had to play Marincin, Rosen, Dermott, Lilejeren all in the same game? Also how stable the Leafs game became when Rielly returned to the lineup? Even with Ceci as his pairing.

Whoa, whoa, whoa. Things were going so well until you compared Hughes' and Carlson's puck-moving ability to Rielly and Barrie. There are 3 different tiers of puck-movers there hahah. And if any one of the 4 has a defensive game above the rest it is definitely Carlson
