Idk if I'd trade Nino for Drouin straight up. I don't think Drouin's stock is high anywhere but Montréal, and it's not even high there

So the Wild save like $1M in cap space, make our center situation worse, don't solve any of our needs, and lose a 1st in the process...? This makes zero sense for us.

Would you trade Matthews for KK, Caufield, Poehling, and the 2 firsts?

No, but Matthews is better, and the leafs are not rebuilding.
If they were hypothetically rebuilding, if a first was added to that I would say yes.
And I would think Matthews is worth a first round pick more than Eichel.

Whether Matthews is better or not doesnt matter, you said that package could get you Gretzky or McDavid. So if you wouldnt trade Matthews for it then obviously its not enough for McDavid or Wayne.

I was using Hyperbole. I agree there is no way that package gets Gretzky or McDavid.

The reported ask is 4 firsts, so I'm just going off that.

But also KK is a top 3 pick from 3 years ago, if he was traded it would be for more than a first. It is possible a team outbids this, for sure, but if there is low interest in Eichel this could work. If you add Caufield this is enough 100%

Low interest in Eichel seems silly. Im fairly confident quite a few teams would be interested.

Also I understand KK was a high pick but I dont think his trade value is as high as it used to be, but more than Mittelstadt for example (whos stock has raised recently)

No but he is worth more than a young mid 6 center a prospect who probably won't ever be a real contributor and 2 late firsts.

Yea I don’t understand that Minnesota trade at all. It’s basically soucy for chiarot and rask and a 1st for a cheaper nino. There’s not really room on the wild for another top 6w. And he’s the type of player they’d not be interested in. Age contract etc he’d be better traded to someone as a rental than mn.

I agree KK stock isn't booming right now, but it's still high. If he were traded, a late first is the absolute minimum he'd get. And I wasn't implying there would be low interest in Eichel, my bad. I do think interest would be there.

Well, the sabres have said 4 firsts would get Eichel. This is, at a minimum, 4 firsts. If Caufield is the the deal, it's 5.
