Why do the Sabres want hertl and Meier?

Sabres pass on that trade. They would get a much better return for Eichel from the Kings, who have arguably the deepest prospect pool in the NHL. I would be surprised that if Eichel gets moved, he doesn’t go to the Kings. The Rangers could pick up Eichel, but the starting offer from Buffalo is guaranteed to include either Kakko or Laf, neither of whom the Rangers want to lose

Why are the Sabres adding, thats not even enough for Eichel. The Philly trade is worse.

The players are so so, and are about to hit UFA at which point they will leave buffalo.

Meier is a career 53 per 82 player with a solid two way game. He is also raf at the end of his contract so if he does go elsewhere the Sabres will get a healthy return. Hertl allows Cozens 1 more year of development before taken over 1C role. If things go well Hertl will have no issue resigning in Buffalo. If they go so so the Sabres can move him at the deadline for a good return.

Sabre fans crucify Ranger fans for bad Eichel takes and then go throw out this nonsense...figure it out.
