Detroit passes, Weren't eating 50% on Namestnikov for a cap dump in Moore and a 2nd and 5th round pick.

Any bruins GM that doesn’t have them re-signing Rask is just a failure.

FYI Boston would be the one eating 50% on Moore not Detroit eating 50% on Namestnikov, Moore @ 2 x $2,750,000 > Namestnikov @ 1 x $2,000,000. It would take more then a 2nd and 5th to take on Moore's cap dump let alone Detroit eating $1,000,000 on Namestnikov which is going to cost you at least another 3rd round pick.

I think it's pretty fair & easy to argue Ritchie is more valuable than Frederic who has been *cockney accent* bloody 'orrible guvna in the NHL so far

Only a 2.5 year age gap between them

Especially if TF gets 1.5M$ so quickly here

If you watch, you see what Frederic brings. If you don’t, you don’t. Protect Frederic over ritchie 100%

I have to think Mike Reilly is in their long term plans. And unless Arizona eats some of the contract, I hate that OEL trade

Why would you ever think he is going to retire? That’s one of the more preposterous concepts I’ve heard.

He's the second best LD on the team behind Gryz, he moves the puck, gets shots on net. He's got 4 assists in 6 games for Boston. He's one of 4 defensemen league wide that have 18+ even strength assists. I don't see why he wouldn't be in the long term plans

They seem to have a pretty firm commitment to the youngsters on the left side.

IDK why Bruins fans don't just put him in the minors. If he doesn't clear waivers then great his full cap hit is gone. If he clears then he goes to Providence and Boston saves something like 40% on his cap hit.

They do, but at the same time if they were so committed to them, they wouldn't have traded for him. Plus he's only 27, so he has good years ahead of him. And the biggest thing: he makes the defensive core better. Simple as that.

No i think they would have. Seemed like the plan all along. Let the kids play, if they need some help at the deadline for a playoff run, go grab a cheap rental, then go back to letting the kids play.

Why would Rask retire? He's still playing well and he's not at the retirement stage yet. He'll be back.

You are giving away 1st and 2nd round picks like candy. Not a recipe for success. Done enough of that in the last few years with not much to show for it.
