As a pens fan I hope Toronto does, cause Washington loses that trade

This is definitely an interesting trade for Toronto. I'm definitely not hanging up the phone if I am Dubas.

They for sure consider it. It's not that far off on value, the biggest unknown is how good Sandin is and do the Leafs think he could eventually replace Reilly if they don't resign him. It's hard to place a value on Tom Wilson because he is a unique breed in the league that has so few guys of his calibre who can also play tough.

Dubas is too Dubas to consider it but why not try an offer like that for Lou or Benning or some of the various cro-magnons who earn millions each year

Wilson:

- doesn't drive play

- awful penalty differential

- curses the franchise he plays for with his evil

Idk why he's seen as a big asset with that contract

If Wilson was a leaf...imagine people on this site. They would claim he’s “untouchable”. I love how they glorify players.

If you have to ask you’ll never know... Wilson cursed Washington w a cup. It was awful 🥲

I would also like to point out how much different the Leafs play wi Simmonds vs without. Wilson is a way better version of him. “Intangible value” opens up the ice

Exactly. Wilson for Nylander would be a huge L for WSH. He may put up more regular season points, but who cares lol

43gp 14g 21a 35p .81ppg 66p in 82 game season

39gp 11g 18a 29p .74ppg 61p in 82 game season

He barely scores more points while playing w a better supporting cast. Lol 😂. This is also Wilson playing in a division w a way lower expected g/60 and nylander playing in a division w the highest expected g/60. If Nylander wasn’t a leaf he would be a Rust 2.0. A great player that isn’t glorified to ELITE level

Lmfao that’s a great comparison tbh. Rust and Nylander produce at a similar level and both play with elite talent. Yet no one talks about one player, and the other player is pegged as a star.

I think there's some merit to that yeah

A bunch of them seem to be doing that to Hyman

Meanwhile he has played every single game of his career beside stars and is finally just barely getting to a 60 point pace despite very high TOI to boot 🙄

Dubas laughs on the phone for 4 days straight then hangs up.

Leafs are giving up the best player in Nylander and the Leafs need Sandin more then they need Lapierre.

Hyman isn't going anywhere. Dubas and Keefe have loved him for 5+ years and he's a Leaf through and through. He's not going anywhere. Lol

He's a "UFA". The only reason he's not signed is so they don't have to protect him in the expansion draft.
