Seattle would take Gustavsson or Daccord before Hogberg.

Who does Colorado lose for free if not Graves???

    avs would do that trade

But lets stop with so the avs dont lose him for nothing nonsense, they are losing someone for nothing no matter what, if its graves that fine if its someone else like Donskoi Compher Nichushkin thats fine too.
If Avs move graves its after the draft not before it

Canucks gotta move out salary to sign their RFAs. Ottawa takes advantage of their cap space for next year.

3 bad contracts for 1 bad contract that lasts 3 years.

Gustavsson is protected. If they want Murray at 6.25Mx3 they can have him.

Sure they could take Daccord instead of Hogberg. I don't think either of them will be more than a backup at the NHL level.

    Daccord is waiver exempt.

Murray and Hogberg are, statistically, 2 of the worst goalies this year. Ottawa is lucky to have them....

If they are the worst goalies why would you assume that Ottawa would protect Murray and let Seattle take Gustavsson?

I'm actually happy the goaltending hasn't been good. I think Ottawa needs a couple more high draft picks to be cup competitors instead of just a playoff team. They need another top line winger or 1C.

I think the value is fair in the COL trade but it doesn’t solve an XD problem, do they protect Tierney over Jost and Nichushkin, probably not. And as coga16 said The Who narrative lose him for nothing is tired and incorrect.

I'd definitely protect Tierney over Jost and probably Nichushkin too. Tierney is a 3C that can play 2C in a pinch. Jost is a good 4C/pinch 3C. Nichushkin is a middle 6 winger.

Jost is killing it this year as the 3C and him and Nichushkin together are destroying it defensively and getting a groove offensively and are cheaper. The kicker of the XD for COL is they WANT a contract taken almost guaranteed to be from Graves, Compher or Donskoi which takes over $3M in cap space AND fills the spot. If Jost or Nichushkin is available AND Graves is gone they are almost guaranteed to be taken because of their youth upside and metrics which Seattle is supposedly very invested in. That’s why @coga16 correctly pointed out any trade for Graves will be post XD or for assets that don’t require to be protected.

Okay Seattle will takes Graves then...

I see the upside in Nichushkin but I think Jost is over rated and over valued because he was drafted 11OA.

Before the start of the season I thought Jost was a lock to be gone, but at the tale end of last year they started using him on the pk. Then this year they started using him at C his natural position, ironically something Avs fans have been saying for more than a minute, and he started producing more. But he has a 57.5 CF, a 10.2 XGD, been their primary pk forward and as I said finding his groove. It’s no secret the general conception was the Avs messed up his development by rushing him because they were coming off a 48 pt season and bounced him all over the line up. Yeah you expect more offensively from the 10 overall pick especially after getting Rantanen in the same spot but his offense is coming around too. Btw I really wanted them to take Chychrun that year, imagine throwing him into their defensive mix or McAvoy lol.
