First Holland has said multiple time he isn't trading that 1st rd pick. Second Detroit has no need for Koskinen both Greiss and Bernier are better than him. Kassian is a 30yr old bottom 6 winger and Detroit already has enough of them. That leaves Samorukov and a 3rd and thats not enough for either of them.

You're not even in the right hemisphere on that Detroit trade. The cost to take the cap dumps of Kassian and Koskinen alone is high picks and prospects. No chance in hell we're sending anything back, especially not Rasmussen.

Was it you that had a similar bruins trade? You just pushed it over the limit.

Detroit 100% declines, Kassian and Koskinen are cap dumps, Samorkuv isn't any better then what we already have in the pipeline. Zero chance of Holland moving that 1st unless it's a massive blockbuster deal for Edmonton! And this isn't it.

Why are Oilers fans so hung up on DeBrusk? He sucks and has a QO of $4.85M next summer. NO THANKS.

Vlader and Vaakanainen might be good in the future, but at present they're AHL guys. That's a HUGE step down in goaltending & defense - and you overpaid for the privilege!

Yup, this whole thing is a clown show. The guy spends a 1st and other assets on two guys who then get healthy scratched... grimace

I’m heavily on the fence about debrusk part of me really would love to see him come home but will admit that qualifying offer considering his results this year does come at a significant risk but should also lower any asking price. I’d be very interested to know what exactly it would take to get him not just fan opinions on what it would take.

It would take more than EDM or any other fanbase probably wants to pay. Odds are he's protected for expansion and if they bring Hall back then DeBrusk slots in a 3LW. Honestly I consider this a throwaway season for DeBrusk. He's been on the COVID Protocol list twice (1x he had covid) and he's admitted that he's struggled mentally with the isolation. The other problem is right now he's playing with Coyle and Ritchie. Coyle is having the worst offensive year of his career and Ritchie has been pretty meh himself with 7pts in his last 24gp. Our 3rd line right now is essentially 3 guys all struggling at the same time.

Hate to break it to you, but nobody is giving up anything for a guy who's been healthy scratched this year, can't/won't backcheck, has 4 goals in 34 games and gets paid $4.85M next year. They just aren't.

Agreed. It's not nearly enough to land Bear, Rodrigue a 1st and a 3rd.

Your sarcasm is simply looking like arrogance. Obviously its the other way around and yopu just made yourself look real bad to everyone here

Everyone knows:
Debrusk > or = Bear
Urho > or = 1st
Ritchie > or = Rodrigue
and Vladar is = a 3rd

So like yeah. you just look uneducated

Sarcasm? I'm dead serious - a bunch of Boston's sloppy seconds isn't getting you those assets from Edmonton.

tears of joy

This is rich. A 22-year-old AHL guy worth a 1st? He's tried for 3 years to make the Bruins roster and can't, his results in the AHL have been mediocre. A 1st? tears of joy

DeBrusk sucks, he's been healthy scratched this year, can't/won't backcheck, has 4 goals in 34 games and gets paid $4.85M next year. You think he's worth as much as / more than a 1st pairing RHD who is younger and makes just $2M?

Urho was literally a 1st 3 years ago and is developing just fine.

You have just showed you know nothing about hockey

argument over

Debrusk is having an off year as is a lot of the league

damn you really do know nothing

It was 4 years ago. And being a 1st round pick 4 years ago doesn't automatically make a player worth a 1st round pick today. He really hasn't developed much, the defensive side of his game is fine but when you can't post offense in the AHL and can't make an NHL taxi squad when the team ahead of you has a weak left side, that's telling. Nobody but Peter Chiarelli would give up a 1st for this guy and he doesn't have a GM job. So, you're out of luck.

There are fundamental flaws in his game that has his coach sitting him in the pressbox. He doesn't have any value due to his contract which pays him $4.85M next year and guarantees him a QO of the same.
