Technically, maybe it sort of meets it, but the value of 4 x 1st is different from every team in the league. Quantity isn't better than quality. For instance, I could offer you 10 assets that, when added together *technically* could equal the value of a 1st round pick, but you'd laugh me out of the room if I did that.

Tkachuk is untouchable, that is more value than 4 1st round picks so it’s good value wise even if you don’t want to believe it. But other teams would be willing to pay more

he was rumored to be asking for 4 1st rounders either players picked in the the 1st round or picks, but the rumor has since been completely warped by everyone's own interpretation and now is used as a lazy excuse to make bad trades (not saying by you, just in general).

No one is untouchable when trading for eichel. People need to understand that

I mean, you've used Dube and Kuz to "technically" equal a 1st. I don't know that anyone in their right mind does that. Neither are bad, but the potential upside of getting a 15 OA pick is more valuable than anything that either of them has shown. From a Ducks fan perspective, if I offered you B-O Groulx (or Sam Steel even) and Axel Andersson, you're not going to give me your 1st.

Think what he meant is the teams that would be trading for Eichel, no guys are untouchable. Tkachuk isn’t close to the same tier as the guys you just mentioned, not a knock on him, it’s a pretty exclusive category. Of the guys you mentioned, none of these teams would be “interested “ in Eichel the way other teams are. When rangers fans say we’ll make a deal, but can’t have Laf, Kakko, Fox, Miller then there’s no deal to be made. The issue when the report came out that there was a potential deal between the two as reported that was a pretty nice package also doesn’t make sense. 1) Buffalo would never admit to be shopping him, 2) who said it was a good package? Again, Buffalo wouldn’t say anything, so from the Rangers side? Well they have all the incentive in the world to say it was a good package, but doesn’t make it so. 3) if it was a good package, the best piece isn’t Kratsov like so many rangers fans want to make it believe. Bottom line, you want Eichel, be ready to make it hurt. Because trading Eichel really hurts Buffalo.

Sabres easily decline, wrong parts

This is probably the most value the Sabres will get in a trade but I agree that the Sabres probably decline. They need a homerun in return and no team is giving a homerun in return for another homerun. Doesn't makes sense.

Eichel is untradeable. He is not worth the valuation given on him and no team will pay that valuation. Any team that is interested in Eichel should just offer sheet the bets RFA's centerman this year and next. probably will cost less and a better chance of working.

Partially agree, barkov is a no. Its subjective who is better, its certainly not any kind of sure thing, and barkov has 4 fewer years on his contract. Of course barkov makes half as much, so florida wouldnt trade him anyways, but those extra years for eichel count here. You would be trading 5 years of eichel for 1 year of barkov, for instance. There is no way the sabres make that trade, unless barkov agrees, nvm, you get the jist.
