      Why....

Jost has finally settled into the 3C role and now this log jams it? Also when you consider there still newhook to get reps at C, this doesnt seem like a smart idea for the Avs
That Danault contract is too much as well, hes not getting that anymore.

If the Avs traded Kadri and signed Danault I could understand the logic, but straight up signing him to be a 5m 3C w hen you have good options in Jost and Newhook to split that role. Why?

I dont see the Avs buying out EJ either, if hes injured they let him rid out on LTIR, if hes healthy he plays

6 years is a big contract, we don't want to be stuck with that down the road. Like coga mentioned Jost is finally finding consistency in a role might as well let him stay there for 3 mil cheaper for long term. Our biggest issue is going to lie with kadri. If he doesn't change his tune at the end of the season here and playoffs there's really no point to him being here, he was brought in for secondary scoring and if he's not doing that there's not much use for him. He'd have to be moved for use to get any other centers, but like i said 6 years is too much. That's our longest contract on the team for a guy we don't know will fit into the system

I genuinely believe that whatever team signs Danault to any real term and/or money is going to regret it. He is a 3rd line center and signing a 3rd line center to an expensive, long term deal is just a bad idea.

I made this AGM to illustrate a point elsewhere, that being that to sign Danault Avs would need to lose Graves and Compher, and bridge Makar.

Whatever the case Danault signing in Colorado is extreemly unlikely so this probably isn't overly realistic. It would be nice to have strong C depth for once though. Ideally Jost would replace Bellemare as 4C.

well you didnt put that in the description if that was the point of the roster

And since you have been trying to get a 3C aggressively all season, this just seemed like another example of that
