Quoting: F50marco
I mean I literally said "he hasn't been good for sure but I wouldn't say a disaster."
A disaster would be him not having any points and being a nuisance to the team. he's been far from that. With that said, he hasn't been "good" like I said.
His leave of absence may not be for forever either so he still has 2 years on his contract to come back to whenever that is. If he calls the quits, then you can call the entirety of his time here whatever you want.
You are also not wrong with your assessment of his playing ability. Since his arrival with the Habs he's been the 5th most scoring player during that time. That's not nothing.
And if anyone is subconsciously using the Sergachev comparison in their assessment of Drouin, blame the architect for that one, not the brick layer.
It's all a matter of expectation.
Were the expectations always too high for him, based on draft position, trade and contract?
Or, did he simply just not realise his full potential, because of X reasons? (an attitude problem, injuries, whatever is his personal reason, etc... )
Based on what I have seen of his puck handling elite talent, I don't have a choice to say the later. And Im pretty sure the architects didn’t based their opinion on pure speculation neither.
