Maybe that’s fair give or take but Edmonton won’t be the one paying it

Going to take more than that to offload Kassian on Detroit. That's an anchor of a contract....

I don't think he gets a cent less than Pietrangelo. He's just as good and Pietrangelo and he'll be 2 years younger than Pietrangelo on signing.

The average defenceman starts to dip around 34 years old.

Uh... that isn't going to happen in a million years. Puljujarvi at $1.2M is FAR too valuable to be a throw-in on a cap dump. This is RIDICULOUSLY good for Detroit.

Clearly it wasn't put together by an Oilers fan.

Larsson will be resigned. The right side is good. How about you start working on a replacement for Klefbom he said there is no guarantee he ever plays again.
Edmonton wont spend a first rounder to dump Neal.

No kidding, an anchor at 3.2 mil? It's not like it's a 5mil+ that you would send off a top 3 pic that's finally turning into a top 6 winger. And last time I checked Zac is having an off year, injury plays into that a lot, but before that he was a top 30 goal scorer 5v5 over the previous 2 years. I wouldn't trade one of the only tough players on the roster for nothing.

Even including his current off-year, Kassian's 29 5v5 goals over the past 3 seasons puts him in a tie with Anthony Mantha and Jason Zucker - both of whom are paid far more and aren't considered cap anchors. Josh Bailey has 28...

Looking at per-sixties, Kassian is still a top goal scorer. Among players with at least 1500 minutes played over the past 3 years, Zack's G/60 is in range with some pretty decent company:

Malkin: 0.83 G/60
Niederreiter: 0.83
Hoffman: 0.83
Fiala: 0.83
Crosby: 0.82
Scheifele: 0.80
Nugent-Hopkins: 0.80
Pavelski: 0.80
Gurianov: 0.80
Wilson: 0.79
Monahan: 0.79
Eichel: 0.78
JT Miller: 0.78
Barzal: 0.78
Landeskog: 0.78
Giroux: 0.78
Kassian: 0.78
M Tkachuk: 0.77
Marner: 0.77
Kapanen: 0.76
Mantha: 0.75
Seguin: 0.74
O'Reilly: 0.73
Svechnikov: 0.73
Laine: 0.73
Zucker: 0.73

Thank you for pulling those stats. Funny to see him just above Tkachuk. I think people need to relax on Kassian, he can move up and down the line up and still has the speed to do it successfully. His foot speed will keep him in the line up for the next 3 years no problem.
