This is absolutely terrible for vegas. If they want cap space they’ll trade a goalie. Smith could be moved but there’s no chance Tuch is, and especially not together and for that return

Easy no from ANA. They can keep their “bad contracts” and be fine cap wise. Lindholm >>> Butcher

The same reason you’d do that trade is the same reason Boston won’t.

This year, ya. In value, this year, probably yes. That’s why the bruins would be legit insane to trade him right now, and it’s why it’s almost a certainty that they won’t.

I mean, wood does have 17 goals this year. It’s certainly not crazy. I just don’t think the bruins are in the business of selling low when they don’t have to.

They are not even close. They have the same exact career numbers despite Debrusk playing an entire season less of games and struggling terribly this year. Debrusk had back to back seasons with 20+ goal seasons in under 70 games and the 19 in 70. Wood has zero 20 goal seasons.

At their very best Wood is a 3rd liner on a good team. Debrusk at his best, ie 27 goals in 68 games, is capable of first line production.

At their best, it is not close.

At their current form it’s not close either. Debrusk has been terrible this year. But going forward I’d rather have what he is capable of as opposed to what Wood is.

It’s like offering Ritchie for Nico because Ritchie has been more productive this year.

Wood has significantly improved over the offseason and I think he could keep up a 20 goal pace in the upcoming seasons. In his first few seasons, he was very immature, taking penalities and very inconsistent. But this offseason, he got a new trainer and improved his scoring abilities. He's also one of the biggest leaders on the Devils. Im not sure if you watch basketball but he's the Marcus Smart of the team.

DeBrusk is struggling alot this year. Not sure the reason but it would be a risk for the Devils to trade for him. I could see him getting pushed down the Devils lineup with the amount of winger depth they have coming up. I think both sides decline but to say it's not even close is wrong. Many people, especially Bruins fans, have been undervaluing Wood as of late

2 injuries 2 positive Covid tests and mentally drained - reason for Debrusk struggles

Honestly more concerned over Coyle, he has no excuses

VGK - teams match up well for salary move, but I'd think it would be smaller deal. I wonder what Holden alone would be?
    BOS - Devils decline
    ANA - Ducks decline
PHI - good deal for NJD, but the hope is Foote has comparable skill set to JvR and can filling that role.

    Not for Boston.

Gut feeling - he ends up in Seattle. 2 pronged deal. A couple pieces to Seattle to take Moore with the provision Debrusk gets traded for a defenseman Seattle selects. Plenty of D available in the draft for Seattle, not much up front.

Yeah that was interesting. Im guessing it's because we don't have too many centers in the AHL.
