Ahh yes the ol re-sign a pending UFA and then trade him before he even plays a single minute on that contract.

I know. It never happens. But Philly fizzled so hard the end of this season they should have everything on the table to make changes.

I know what you mean, but Laughton is so integral to their team in terms of leadership and identity I think I think they'd let a lot of other players go before him (van Riemsdyk, Voracek, Lindblom, Aubé-Kubel, Gostisbehere etc.)

I think a deal that would be more likely is Gostisbehere, Lindblom, and maybe a pick for Ristolainen and maybe someone else

Buffalo won't be bringing in a LHD. Dahlin, McCabe(hopefully), Samuelsson and Bryson will keep anyone else out of the lineup. I love Lindblom and his story but he had a ROUGH year...

They signed him after the tail spin started.

I'm really only throwing Ghost in as a contract - they'd likely bury him or flip him if they can. And I don't think it's easy as a rebuilding team to say no outright to a young winger. That's why I threw in a pick, as incentive to take Ghost's contract, and because I don't think Philly would take on Ristolainen's contract without shipping one out that they don't want (i.e. not Laughton)

Buffalo has no use for Ghost, or even taking on a defenseman in return for Risto. I realize Philadelphia cannot take on his contract without sending out one that is close to his. That said I don’t think Konecny would be moved at all, and that’s the guy I would go after. Nolan Patrick would be a nice pick up as well, but that’s not enough money coming back the other way.
