IMO, no makar wouldnt do that. He doesnt seem like that kind of guy.
For example he went back to Umass for his second year bc he felt like he had unfinished business there and didnt give the school all that he could bc he spent most of the season away from it bc of WJC.

When Point signed that contract it was pre Covid and he was looking at bulk cash after that deal. Still is. 8*7 vs 6.7*3 plus a raise (not factoring taxes etc) after is not even close to 15*7.

We can argue to absurdity about player motivations. Especially in an unrealistic situation like this. But Makar is a smart guy, you get offered that sum of money it's about more than just hockey. That's a life changing sum.
