We do have to get real about Duchene + Landeskog (myself included)

Description
I think most of us on here have been unrealistic about Duchene's value. Colorado is asking a huge price but in reality, I doubt they will go for the returns Avalanche personnel + fans are seeking. My guess is both players go for a similar return to that of Taylor Hall and won't likely happen until the summer.

I think Duchene will get a better return than Landeskog and the latter is being grossly overvalued. Given the nature of today's trade market, I think this is what they will go for...but they could go for more.

Also...as my Avatar should indicate, I'm not an Avalanche fan and have no bias.

The Avs don't have to move Duchene or Landeskog. If they don't get a package that meets what they're asking for, they'll just keep them.

The Duchene trade is close. The Landeskog trade is not.

I don't see anyone being stupid enough to pay what Sakic is asking. I assume he started high and will meet a team somewhere in the middle for a young stud D man and a 1st or prospect but not both.

Taylor Hall is roughly worth the same as Gabriel Landeskog maybe more maybe less im just a fan. Taylor Hall a #1 overall pick who scored 80 points on a **** team two years ago was swapped for adam larsson. Sakic is smoking some crazy green in colorado if he thinks hes gonna get a established top 4 or greater dman and a 1st AND a top prospect for sub 20 points underperforming gabriel landeskog. I get hes the captain there and hes a fantastic 2 way player with intangibles, but so is taylor hall to a lesser extent.

You're right that the Avs won't get all that they're asking for, but I know for a fact that the Canes have offered up more than Hanifin. Throw in Gauthier/Roy and a 1st/2nd, and you'll be warmer.

    That Landy trade blows.

Not that I don't believe you but do you have a source for that?
