Avs will ask EJ to waive & protect him with a pick or buy him out. Given how little amateur scouting is available for this year's draft class, I don't think Sakic is worried about utilizing his 1st rounder if that's what it takes.

2023rd 1st is something I'd do to get rid of one of Duchene/Joey contract. I'd prefer Duchene to go tbh. Joey is the better player defensively and fits better into what Hynes style of play.

99.9% of those players Ron Francis wouldn't touch, There's no freaking way either Parise or Suter waive their NMCs to be taken by Seattle and there's no freaking way Francis would take both just far too expensive. Noway Benn waives his NMC. You can't buyout 5 players in a single season i believe 2 is maximum. And this team is still a bottom 5 finisher. I hope Francis does take Svechnikov because he's going to be out of the NHL within a year or two anyways.
