so avs dump EJ to make room to sign makar but they take on more cap hit with Voracek and with more term. Like come on man, That isnt even trying

Avs are not taking on a massive contract, the salary cap is a real thing

Columbus moves 3 1sts to get a guy they would have gotten if they didn’t move a 1st to begin with. It has all come full circle.

wouldnt work. mack's contract is up before voracek. this would cause cap problems down the road.

If Copp isn't willing to re-sign in Winnipeg and you drop the second from the Jets, I think Winnipeg considers it. If Copp is extended, the Jets wouldn't do it.

All of the 1st rounders for Eichel are late 😳

Unlikely but they might 0 NHL games out of them all

Hayes is already underperforming his cap hit

    6 more years and he's nearing 30

    I'm in shock here honestly

This is the long way to say Couturier for Eichel. No?
I think the WPG and BOS trades make some sense for both sides.
But Flyers shouldn't be selling the best d-men.

Sure Hayes waives his NMC for Buffalo. Trading ordinary players without getting almost equal cap back rarely works. Example Bruins could spend 6m on a UFA Dman and keep those two first rounders, instead of trading for Provonov.

Would wait to see the lottery results before going with that Couturier trade, but otherwise it'd probably work for the Jackets. (In particular, if we can get Beniers, I think I'd rather have him - yes, Couturier *is* what folks *hope* Beniers could be, but the age difference is impactful).
