Who says no? Sharks have too many middle six wingers so getting rid of some is a must. Both are RFAs that I feel neither club is tied to

Mete just went on waivers, absolutely no reason to trade Donato for a waiver pickup rather than a pick.

Donato is just another Tierney. We need Mete a lot more than we need Donato. Ottawa declines and wouldn't trade a pick for Donato.

I guess Balcers should just be waived, I mean he was waived from a brutal Senators roster, he can't be any good right?

Would Donato not fit better on the third line wing than the majority of the Senators current wingers? Genuine question, from the last time I looked at the sens their middle six was lacking, and Donato is a near 1/2 ppg player

Our 3rd line will be Formenton-Pinto-C. Brown

Stutzle, Brown, Dadonov I take over Donato. Formenton is still 21 so he will improve. Don't see a role for Donato unless you take Tierney back.

From what I've heard different insiders say, many GMs have let guys slide through waivers this year out of fear that other GMs will retaliate and take their guys off waivers. That said Sens did grab Mete off waivers and they would have had the higher priority over the Sharks. Habs only waived him because they thought they were getting Tony DeAngelo. I think Mete would be a nice pickup for the Sharks.

Pre trade deadline I could see how you’d think that but they’ve been finally playing their young guys so I don’t think Donato would be much of a fit. Mete’s also been a breath of fresh air so I can’t imagine them moving him unless they had to.

It really is. Formenton has McDavid like speed and can kill penalties (Hagelin type), Pinto is a solid 2 way power forward with really good face off numbers (could become somewhere between Faska and Kadri) and Connor Brown is a stud (puts up crazy numbers and is a great 2 way player)

So all 3 guys are excellent defensively and can produce

Yeah exactly. It would be an entirely versatile line with good 2-way ability, awesome speed and finishing ability too. One of the better “third lines” in the league imo.

Where in the world did I say that he can't be any good or that he should be placed on waivers, he certainly still has potential. You don't however trade away a middle 6 player you acquired who's done alright, for a player who was placed on waivers two weeks ago.

Balcers was placed on waivers before the season started, if you want to trade Mete for Balcers, that would make more sense, but no way trading Donato for Mete.
