Description

I thought the lines were better last night - komarov even played well , although I don’t think it’s sustainable to have success with him on the 1st line. . Switch komarov and palmieri and I’d be fine with these lines going into the playoffs.

Regarding the PP, it really makes too much sense to load up the 1st unit with decisive puck movers and shooters.

Dobson-barzal (right circle)-wahlstrom(left circle) - palmieri (slot) - Nelson (net front)

This gives the PP a ton of options. If they cheat towards wahlstrom and give barzal space, he can beat a goalie clean with his shot or find palmieri in the slot for a one timer. Dobson’s wrist shot is the best on the team which gives the option for a double screen with Nelson/palmieri

I don't follow the isles very closely, but Palmieri on line one makes a lot of sense.

Yeah lol especially when you give up a 1st for him. Palmieri needs someone who can create space and get him the puck

If First Line Leo is what we need for the team to play well, I'm for it at this point. Butch said after his goal last night that as strange as it is, he's the only guy outside of Lee that seems to work on that line. Zajac and Bailey are not the answer and they refuse to use Bellows up there, so unless they do something wildly out of character and put Beau or Palmieri up there, then I guess its Leo or bust.

For what it's worth, that line's underlying numbers are pretty great. Obviously its Barzal and Eberle driving the bus, but Leo has shown he can get involved from time to time. I just say roll with it and hope they can keep building on their chemistry. It's not ideal, but it might be our best option at this point

Palmieri should not be an out of character move lol - they gave up a 1st for the guy and palmieri is a solid defensive play driver.

100% I agree. It’s kind of weird that they refuse to do it, meanwhile they put zajac up there when he’s not even good defensively lol
