That’s a tough one for Ottawa. That 2022 1st could be huge but Batherson is on his way to being at least a 60-70pt player as well. I don’t think I do it

Philly declines. That's way too much to give up for Gaudreau

I think the mix certainly is a problem, but I think the biggest issue is that their best players aren't good enough.

Tkachuk is good but Batherson will cost much less and only produce slightly less and the upgrade isn't worth those picks. Also we have plenty of LWs but not enough RWs. OTT declines

Lmao no shot does Ottawa do that. The Gap between Batherson and Tkachuk isn't nearly that significant. Ottawa has no reason to even consider moving Batherson if they aren't making a drastic improvement, and Tkachuk has been a marginal upgrade at best this season. The fact that you think the difference is a 1st, two 2nds AND taking Lucic tells me you have no idea how good Drake Batherson is.

An absurd overpay for one year of Gaudreau. Flyers might just sign him for free in summer 2022.

Tzachuk is good player but his notoriety seems to increase his actual value rather than on ice value. Ottawa isn't giving up a very high first round and Batherson (who has outscored Tzachuk 17 to 10) this season. And to expect Ottawa to include two second rounders and take on a semi cap dump in Lucic. C'mon you're sucked in by Tzachuk's on ice antics.

Taylor Hall and RNH don't seem good solutions either, giving them long term deals.
