I really hope Dorion makes a trade for bad cap+compensation.

OTT has one more season where we can afford to waste the cap, lets put it to good use

I love the EDM trade, but you're not taking enough from NYI for Ladd

No chance the Oilers make that trade. Lavoie is a blue chip power forward.... AND a pick? Nope. Oil need a top 6 LW, Tierney is bottom 6 at best. They already have Hobey Baker finalist Dylan Holloway and/or AHL top 3 scorer Tyler Benson to fill 3LW hole next year.

They were looking for a 3C but i think Mcleod just took the job so they don't need Tierney anymore. I don't think Benson gets a chance in Edmonton their play style really relies on speed in the bottom 6 especially. I think Holloway makes the team or they bring in somebody like Eric haula who can also win faceoffs.

The difference is Florida is extremely desperate to get it moved. It really depends on who the teams involved are i think

Why are we extremely desperate to move it? It's only one more year after this year, and it doesn't impede any signings

They're really in a spot where they have numerous big, bad contracts (Bob, Yandle, Stralman). They don't even want it, and could use the 5M to bolster a spot elsewhere. They do not need him but have to pay 5.5M. Florida is also pretty close to the cap, so they could use it a lot if they want to continue to conted (Also helps them potentially hold on to Dreidger for a year as well(
