I think that this is a sincere, if at times misplaced, effort.
To begin with, I think that no one can argue (and, I note, no one has argued) that the Seattle, Anaheim, Las Vegas and Washington trades are reasonable value, whether or not the teams would make them. (I personally will never trade Nic DesLauriers even though people offer entirely sensible assets for him.)
The Los Angeles trade is particularly interesting for me. Personally, I would weed out all the window dressing. (I think that Iafallo with his recent contract extension is more valuable to us than Olofsson, Lemieux is probably worth more than Pekar, and MacDermid is probably fair value for moving a 2023 third to a 2021 third, so let's call that all a wash after allowing for homer bias.) We're left with Byfield and a first and two seconds for Eichel. This is awfully close to a deal I think a real NHL GM would accept, from either side.
Buffalo adherents seem to me to have a very high valuation on Eichel, and in this light, I think that the OP has to be commended for getting out there and publishing this proposed exchange which very few of his comrades will approve. I might or might not like it or agree with it, but I admire
@Sayburrz for posting it.
