I think Foligno is the type of player you do not want to trade. His market value is much lower than the value he brings to Minnesota, and he is far more valuable than those picks could ever be. It's hard to explain. His value does not come from points and offensive glory, but rather from steady defending, well-executed gritty playstyle and being the perfect, extroverted teammate who makes everybody pumped and feeling good, no matter if they are more quiet and reserving or not. He also was seriously considered to be a captain (for a reason!).

Also, @BrodinCheerD , you could be more constructive when commenting your criticism. Saying someone's offer is "beyond comical" sure makes them feel bad, but does nothing in order to help them improve / see your point of view.

You've got to keep in mind that he's a Wild fan, and fan bases are pretty loyal to players of Foligno's type, so the outburst is forgivable. Leaf fans have the same feelings about Zach Hyman. I'd trade Willy, Johnny T and almost anyone not named Matthews, Marner and Reilly to get cap space to him on the team because I love the type of player that he is. I haven't followed Foligno that closely, but it sounds like he's come a long way from almost being a bust to earning the fans loyalty.

But @BrodinCheerD , don't forget, no one is untouchable. Even Gretzky got traded. Everyone has a price for the Million Dollar Man.
