Like this for both sides. Laine desperately needs a barkov. I remember when laine was still a jet, I suggested the Jets give barkov 11 million just to be with laine LOL.

I think CBJ would accept Lundell + 2nd for laine. Tbh I value lundell over laine, but that’s just me.

Laine scores 35-45 goals with barkov, and likely would take a long term deal at 7.5-8.5m.

Good trade. I wonder if Jarmo is willing to give up on making Laine work yet.

No chance Zito does this. Can wait a extra year or so and get him as a UFA

Finally a Laine trade Jarmo might consider. Though I doubt Jarmo is going to move Laine this offseason at an all time low trade value.

Laine to Edmonton to be with Mcdavid wink

in all honesty Laine would complement Mcdavid well

then u got the fact Laine can be afforded while Panthers have Barkov and Huberdeau contracts to worry about.

its not that Laine isnt working its the system Torts has put in place, then u got the fact Laine does not have a good center like Scheifle or Stasny feeding him the puck. Once the new coach steps in and a new true 1C can be acquired via FA or trade, pretty sure Laine will rebound

I think laine to Florida helps with barkov contract as they’ll love playing together. Not sure about huberdeau

true but Barkovs representatives want him paid and hinted at a deal looking similar to what Eichel got (10mill x 8 years) as the starting point. And lets be real hes earned every penny and someone in FA will give him that

Huberdeau is tough, top 6of wings his caliber have been making a good chunk of change (Marner 10.983mill, Rantanen 9.25mill, Panarin 11. 642mill, Kucherov 9.5mill u get it) Got to think at least 9mill starting range unless he takes a massive discount

So basically Florida will need between 18 and 20mill in cap space for the both of them once their contracts expire

Seeing as Bennett has perfectly slotted into the 2C slot, at this point I see Lundell as somewhat expendable. However, like I said earlier, I would want to wait and see how bennett performs next year
That being said, if Bennett proves to us over a longer span that he fits, I would not be opposed to trading Lundell for a high end forward (laine) or defenseman

Bad take sorry. Elite centers are the hardest to come by and most valuable. Laine wants to play with Barkov and he isn’t “needed” Imagine having Bennett or Lundell on the 3rd line vs other teams 3rd/4th line…wouldn’t be fair. When you versus teams like Tampa and Carolina you’re going to want both of them.

If he really became available in FA that would certainly be the best option
Or if he continued to tank in value so we could get him for lesser assets, would be good too
I guess a center core of Bark - Lundell - Bennett would be great, but just worried that bennett wouldn't produce on the 3rd line
