Why do I keep seeing people trading for Nick DesLauriers? He’s barely worth trading for, Especially not a decent prospect. Why would the Sabres want him back?

No on Nick Deslauriers

Oshie is a tough one but I'd have to pass, he's already 34 and under contract 4 more years. A 38 year old Oshie is highly unlikely to even make it to Okposo levels.

I don't think a 4 year contract works for Dahlin. You'd need to stick to 3 years at max to avoid arbitration/qualifier contract and out situations.

Rather sign Ullmark over Andersen and UPL needs one more year in Rochester

He’s a fourth line winger, obviously older than he was when he was here the first time. Not worth more than a sixth round pick if you want him back, and I think you can find fourth line players without giving up assets to do it. Cronholm is a top 4 potential defenseman, the Ducks ripped us off the last time we made a deal with them. Let’s not give them another one.

Deslauriers is great, Oshie is still producing and has way more leadership qualities than Okposo, Ullmark gets hurt too much, and they have Tokarski and McElhinney both there to compete with UPL

Cronholm is still a very young player, he’s big just like Samuelsson. That doesn’t mean he’s going to be just as good as Samuelsson can be, but I’m not ready to give up on him just yet. Certainly not for a fourth liner who’s now on the wrong side of 30.

Deslauriers and Asplund are 2 completely different players. Im not sitting Ruotsalainen on the bench and he is waiver exempt, he'll get plenty of games, the Sabres are never short of injuries. UFAs arent coming to Buffalo without getting over paid.

Yeah well, as a Maple leaf fan, i bet you love watching every other team in the league steam roll over the Sabres every night and Cozens and Dahlin are the only ones dropping the gloves. I would like to never see either of those things again. As a maple leaf fan, id figure youd understand completely. Role players are going nowhere

Yea Asplund is actually playing good. You're swapping a good player for one that doesn't offer much.

Arttu is a pretty decent young player. Having him not in the lineup is a strange choice. Use vet min / AHL guys like C.J. Smith / Oglevie for injury insurance instead. We should be playing our young talented guys over 4th line grinders.

Well, just don't overpay for guys then lol. This team has been trying to fill holes overypaying FAs for the last 10 years. I think we should just steer clear from overpaying guys and only use FA for cheap vet depth like we've done in the past with Lazar / Rieder.

neither Arttu nor Asplund should be on the 4th line. Coleman probably doesnt sign here anyway, so the 3 of them, Bjork, Arttu, and Asplund are competing for those 2 spots, not that any of them can fill the shoes Coleman could. Arttu is the only one i believe can continue this play next year. But typical Sabres fashion, they'll continue to be behind the curve and get physically dominated night in and night out and wonder why they're at the bottom of the league.

Next season will be Reinhart's seventh, so signing him to a one-year deal means he'll be a free agent in 2022. Are you implying that you expect him to insist on that contract, so that he can test free agency?
