Why take Holtby, at all? No extras to take Ghost or Burns?

Johnson waives or is bought out it has been discussed to the point of beating it to death in Denver. There is no reason for him not to waive because he has been hurt all year and Seattle isn’t taking a hurt 30+ dman making $6M.

So the 7 - MacKinnon, Rantanen, Landeskog, Kadri, Burakovsky, Jost, Nichushkin
D - Makar, Girard, Toews
G - Grubauer

Exposed Graves, Donskoi and Compher amongst others. COL knows they are losing A player. If they do they want it to be one with a contract that if selected creates space. Jost is young, cheap, flourished in the 3C role and is the teams best PK forward and he has been great defensively. Pretty simple as to how they protect him, they do.
