21-22 Roster

Created by: Xolie
Team: 2021-22 Boston Bruins
Initial Creation Date: May 4, 2021
Published: May 4, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
This is my take on the Bruins 21-22 Roster, I think this is a realistic roster, and the Sturm-Miller trade is pretty fair for those who haven't seen Sturm play, Miller is aging and becoming worth less each season, and Sturm has been a solid 3rd line Center for the Wild in the 2020-21 season for Minnesota.

Bergeron, Marchand, Pastrnak, Hall, Krejci, Debrusk, Coyle, McAvoy, Grzelcyk, Carlo, and Swayman protected for Expansion Draft. Seattle would take Craig Smith.

Value wise the trade is decent, but Miller is a pending UFA and won’t likely take a sign and trade. I think he stays in Boston. Clifton would be the defenseman to add over Miller since he has a contract beyond FA this year, but his value is also higher than Miller’s so maybe remove the pick and it may be fair. Not sure Boston would want to move Clifton tho.

Think you have given the reason why the Wild aren't trading Strum for so little.

So we lose Ritchie to UFA by non-tendering him, lose Smith to SEA replaced by Armia.... and have Wagner on the 3rd line. Bruh.. If they do lose Smith, and sign Hall, Krejci & Rask for that cheap, there's enough money to make a bigger upgrade to the 2nd line RW. Armia would be a good piece for the 3rd line.
Also, that trade is trash. Miller is a UFA and I don't think MIN gives up Sturm for low picks.

I mean there is a lot wrong here, but you lose all credibility when you protect Swayman (he's draft exempt) and not Rask.

Wild decline, and B’s and Miller are not signing just to turn around snd trade.

Swayman is draft exempt, no need to protect. Highly doubt they protect DK as a UFA unless he extends before the draft. Little chance Seattle takes a UFA only to have them sign with someone else, they end up with nothing. They’d be doing Boston a favor if they took DK as a UFA as he’d just turn around and sign with Boston anyway and they lose nobody.

You aren't getting nico sturm, a good young player, a good young c from Minnesota wild.

Wild don't need any d much less one who won't play on wild

A 4th round pick, or even a 2nd round pick doesn't get you nico sturm

Funny you think the value for nico is fair is pretty funny considering Miller is a free agent, a d who won't ever play on wild. Nico is a good young player who can play wing, & his original spot center which he has been playing lately, & been really good, helping wild, & parise win games

At least try proposing a real fair proposal

Dream on with these.

Wild don't need or want Miller who won't ever ever play on wild stacked d 1-6 including wild d prospects

Protecting rask would be dumb. Let Seattle take him so he can just sign with the Bs 15 seconds into free agency.

Why create carlo?
Why trade for a 3rd/4th line center when the bruins have like 10 of those guys?
Ritchie? Kase? Studnicka?

Think boston is going to enter the season with over 7 mill in cap?

"Why Create carlo" Because he's an existing player that the Bruins would re-sign
Ritchie, Kase, and Studnicka weren't there or available for signing and I forgot about Kase and Studnicka especially.

We still remain unaware if Rask is gonna retire after his contract ends.

Sure. Still remain unaware if connor McDavid will retire next year too.

There’s no reason rask would retire.

In this situation you have him signed. If he's signed prior to the expansion draft then he'll need to be protected.

So you're just gonna act like you are 100x smarter than me about the Bruins because you are a fan and because you think I am not? Newsflash: I am a diehard Bruins fan, with the hate given by a good amount of our fanbases fans unnecessarily, the fact he's getting older, and misses his home country of Finland. Those are reasons he could retire and it's been hinted multiple times too. You aren't a genius mate. Now please literally every time I create in capfriendly any given time of the day you respond quickly, you should take a break.

Or just what he said. He said he would play three more years after his contract if he was good enough. He would probably make 18 million or so over those three years. No reason to live that on the table to move to Finland.
