Wallstedt to Seattle on paper makes a ton of sense - get your franchise goalie early and start developing him for 3 years down the road - but marketing around a goaltender is not easy. Fleury wouldn't have been able to do it in Pittsburgh without the ilk of Crosby, Letang, and Malkin coming up with him.

I don't think he's the best pick at #4 but Luke Hughes to Seattle in order to market a west coast rivalry with the Canucks as well as afford him all the time he needs to develop is probably the best move the Kraken can make at #4 from an overall standpoint. Power or Edvinsson are probably the best picks there if Beniers+Guenther are the #1 and #2 picks in any order.

Agreed on Wallstead, but my main point, aside from marketing him, picking a goaltender that high is dangerous AF.

I agree only to an extent. The trio of Knight-Askarov-Wallstedt are unlike any goaltending prospects seen since Fleury. Their numbers in their respective leagues were astronomical and only continue to improve. I was head-over-heels for Askarov last year and Wallstedt's been better and for longer. He absolutely should be a top-10 pick this year and there's merit in taking him top-5. I think he'll end up as the Red Wing's pick.

I'm curious to see if Sebastian Cossa throws his hat into that ring with the other three over the next couple years. He surged behind an excellent Edmonton team and I figure he goes inside the top-20. He keeps it up and every major nation sans Finland will have produced a key netminder, Dostal being the Czech candidate.

From what I’ve seen, Rosen looks to be better than Lysell. I haven’t seen a large enough sample size to decide that officially but I have been beyond unimpressed with Lysell so far
