I don't watch many Dallas games. I know he's skilled but does Lindell use his size? I see he's 6'3", does he throw his weight around?

I’d like to see the Jets grab Lindell. We have a solid 2LW in Copp who could be available, along with a D prospect like Gawanke and a 2nd. Or if that’s not enough just make it Copp and 2021 1st. Most id give is Samberg + Copp + 2021 2nd. Samberg is one of our better d prospects, NHL ready next year. Big strong kid who uses his size well and is good at both ends. Ironically he reminds me of what Lindell is. He plays the same style, and could become pretty close to what Lindell is.

I’d be on board with this idea. I’m not sure they’d deal Samberg, but if they did Dallas would 100% be on board with that idea. If the Copp, Samberg and 2021 2nd package is too much for you guys, we can take a little less. If the idea is around Copp + I could see a deal like that work out.

He has 103 hits this season, he isn’t a tough guy, but he can lay the body from time to time.

As a Jets fan, I’m okay with Samberg + Copp for Lindell. Maybe there’s no picks? Or if there is it would like be like a 3rd or 4th. I usually just try to make a package of what I think is fair, then add to account for bias haha.

Think it’s a deal that really could help both sides. Copp is a solid 2LW that can play in any scenario. He can PK, play PP, play shutdown, produce offence. He does it all. Just think his time is over in Winnipeg. With him filing for arbitration last year, while looking to go back to the states, seems like it could be a good fit. Lindell helps us a lot. Heinola will be a huge help on D, and Stanley is great, but I have a feeling Jets might move Heinola to the right side long term.

This D core looks nice:

Morrissey-Heinola
Lindell-Pionk
Stanley-DeMelo

I’d be fine with no picks, a low pick like a 3rd as you mentioned would be preferable. I’d like to know more about Samberg, is he a physical defensive defense-man?

Is Copp much better offensively than the likes of Faksa, Dickinson, Janmark etc? Namely these depth assets we've had here for years that haven't really been able to provide enough offensively...

Imo if DAL was to deal Lindell, I'd want an established top-6 winger in return. Copp is great when he's in zone but before this year he hasn't been able to crack 30 points.

I'm curious whether he's actually a solid asset, or is this year an anomaly of sorts...

Devils I think would be interested.
We have lots of young players and picks.
And cap space to burn.
What does Dallas need?

Would Bratt be too much? If not maybe him, Ryan Murray’s signing rights and a 2nd or a 3rd. I don’t know Devil players value, if my values are way off just tell me.

That would be sick. My guess is that they would ask to do a one on one deal Bratt vs Lindell. Bratt looks like he is part of their future at just 22.

If we could squeeze in Ryan Murray’s signing rights it would be a very good deal for us, probably not them. If we could put Murray on a one year deal as opposed to Oleksiak’s 2-3 years with Heiskanen, it would be awesome. After that we let Murray go and sign a big name free agent d-man to go with Heiskanen, and put Harley with Klingberg.

Bratt is a cornerstone piece.
After Hughes and Hischier...Bratt, Ty Smith, Blackwood (and probably Sharangovich) make up our core.
And we expect Holtz, Foote and Mercer to join that list (hopefully).
I would think the later 2021 1st (the Islanders pick) would be in play.

Here is your 101 on Devils players...(not counting pending UFAs)

Forwards -
Jack Hughes (elite skating, vision, playmaking, but still growing)
Nico Hischier (leader, two-way center, great along boards and in corners, great skating)
Jesper Bratt (small, but super quick and skilled with puck, elite stick-handling, feisty...dropped the gloves with Marchand)
Yegor Sharangovich (tall, long reach, quick release...can snipe...great defensively)
Janne Kuokkanen (smooth, steady, great hands, can play anywhere in line up...has recently been 1LW)
Miles Wood (speed, size and sniping ability)
Pavel Zacha (big skilled forward who can play center, but scores more from wing...has been mostly wing this year)
Andreas Johnsson (has some skill and has shown flashes but has mostly been so-so this year)
Jesper Boqvist (speed, skill, has had confidence problems and could use change of scenery, plays C or W, just recently slotted him at 3c)
Nick Merkley (former 1st, can play C or W, small but physical...too skilled for bottom-six, too small for thumper line, but not skilled enough for top-6; has been playing 3rd wing),
Mikhail Maltsev (big body bottom-six...great stick-handling for his size; hungry player)
Nate Bastian (thumper, has some scoring touch, will drop the mits)
Mike McLeod (good bottom-six center, great speed and size, not much of top-6 skill upside)
Tyce Thompson (small-framed, skilled right-shot winger just breaking into league)
Nate Schnarr (like Mcleod, just less speed, better stickhandling and playmaking)
Graeme Clark (Brandt's bro, right-shot sniper who has had injury issues)
Arseni Gritsyuk (total lotto ticket, tons of offensive upside, tore up Russian juniors last year, broke into KHL as teenager this year)
Jarmoir Pytlik (big body center with good hands)

Defense -
Damon Severson (our #1 d-man...or at least closest thing we have to it)
PK Subban (big contract, big personality, big shot, high risk type player...always goes for home-run pass, longshot slapper... has been good this year)
Ty Smith (smaller frame, elite IQ, great skating and awareness, runs our PP, defensively solid)
Will Butcher (skilled with puck, but slow in transition, so has fallen out of favor with Lindy Ruff)
Jonas Siegenthaler (we just got him from Capitals)
Kevin Bahl (huge 6'7" with great skating for his size, still developing)
Reilly Walsh (skilled offensive RHD from Harvard, great in transition, likely takes Subban's spot in roster eventually as #2 RHD)
Shakir Mukhamadullin (1st pick last seaosn, started in KHL as 18-year old, defensive d-man)
Nikitia Okhotyuk (Hits like rocket, little offense)
Michael Vukojevich (Hughes childhood buddy, two-way d-man with serious upside)
Ethan Edwards (offensive d-man heading to Michigan next year)
Case McCarthy (defensive d-man at Boston University, probably 3rd pair shut-down type)
Daniil Misyul (defensive d-man in 2nd KHL season as 20-year old).

Goalies -
MacKenzie Blackwood (our starter)
Akira Schmid (our best goalie prospect, leads USHL is most categories)
Nico Daws (had one good OHL season, not sure what he will become)

Would Zacha be available? If so same package as last time. Zacha, Murray's signing rights and a 2nd or a 3rd. He's leading in points this season for you guys, but you said he isn't as valuable to your future as Bratt. If this is too much remove the pick, I only want Murray to compensate Lindell and maybe Oleksiak's lost.

Zacha is more available than Bratt.
He scores much more when on wing...not sure if he settles as 30-pt 3C...or 50-60 point wing.

We would most likely play him on the wing. How much would you want for him? If he's more valuable to you guys than Lindell we could add a pick. A base of Lindell for Zacha and Murray's signing rights, after that we work from there. This deal would also happen before his NMC kicks in, if it's before the expansion draft and it f*cks up your plans with that, we can send an extra pick to compensate Seattle not choosing a player you'd want to keep that you originally could, but after the Lindell deal you couldn't. If it doesn't and he doesn't effect your expansion draft at all no pick is sent. The pick would be a 4th/5th.

He’s actually solid offensively. The guy was put with stone hands Lowry so his production took a major hit. But with solid wingers Copp produces well and is a Swiss Army knife. He hadn’t cracked 30pts because of where he was playing and how he was utilitized.

I’d call samberg a two way dman, that uses his size to ensure he’s always in the right body position. He can pitch in offensively, was usually like a 0.6 - 0.8 PPG guy in NCAA, while really good defensively. He’s really smart too.

He reminds of Lindell.

Lindell and a 4th for Zacha and Murray's signing rights? Just want to confirm this.
