why would nugent hopkins ever sign that deal? monahan should be moved before his ntc kicks in, even retained or the flames are stuck with a 6.3 million dollar 3c. this roster is no better than this year putting the top c on the rw doesnt help and adding not a great 5 on 5 from edmonton doesnt help much either. phillips at c at the nhl level is comical too.

The flames don’t need a big shakeup they would make the playoffs if sutter was here from the beginning or if this was an 82 game season and big shakeup would be a big mistake

that answered nothing regarding an extremely overpaid 3c, rnh laughing at that contract, moving the top 200 ft c to the wing, putting a 140 pound player at c on the 4th line with two defined checking guys. maybe not a huge shake up but intentionally making the roster worse isnt the answer

Lindholm is a much better winger than center he had an 80 point year on the wing and at center he hasn’t come close to that. Also monahan is at 3c because that’s would be a pure offense line and give them very easy matchups. nuge hasn’t had a good season so and it’s flat cap so he won’t get a very big raise if he even would get a raise and lucic would open up space for Phillips and gawdin so that 4th line could provide offense. That my thinking anyway, it could be a complete disaster.

To me, seems like too many of the current Flames get an invite to return to the Flames. Just don't think they are good enough.
